It was a very funny paper because it said ‘no tattoos, piercing or branding on our trip’.” (Stefanie Strasser, 3HLWA)

Nice things were sold at the market stalls, for example sweets and handmade soap.” (Melanie Jöchl, 3HLMA) “After shopping we went punting. Punting is great if you can do it. We were absolute beginners but nevertheless it was a lot of fun!” (Namthip Jai-Asra, 3HLWA)

Tuesday, 27th March 2007 “Today was school time again. It was so tiring, just like in Vienna. After school we went to St. John’s College – a really amazing college. It reminded me of an imperial palace because they had a huge garden at the back of the college.” (John Paul Alcantara, 3HLWA)
“Tuesday was cinema special. Although the films were in English, we understood quite a lot!” (Pia Grafl, 3HLMB)
Wednesday, 27th March 2007 “After school we had a one-hour break and then we could choose two museums to visit in little groups. The task was to write about two items we saw there. We could choose between the Fitzwilliam Museum, the Botanic Gardens and the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. In the Museum of Archaeology most people were looking forward to seeing the shrunken heads they had heard about but actually they couldn’t take a look at them because the museum doesn’t show them any more.” (Corinna Gruber, 3HLMA)
“The last point on our programme was a visit to the theatre. I wanted to sleep but the people laughed too much and I did the same without knowing why. Namthip fell asleep in my arms and I used Michi’s foot as a pillow.” (Manuel Ihl, 3HLWA)
Thursday, 28th March 2007 “After school we met our teachers at the railway station in Cambridge. Then we took the train to Ely. The first thing we noticed were the ugly ducks on the streets. We had the option to go inside the big cathedral of Ely, and many people took this chance. Later we went bowling and that was great fun. … In the evening we met our teachers and went to a pub called “Roses and Crowns”. We had great fun there because it was a karaoke pub. But only a few of us could sing songs because there were other guests too and they wanted to sing as well.” (Patricia Stöger, Marlies Grammanitsch, 3HLMA)
Friday, 29th March 2007 “We went to McDonald’s. In front of the restaurant door some vegetarians were protesting. They were wearing ‘cow uniforms’ with red spots. They had disgusting pictures with dead animals. On a dead cow they wrote ‘this is your burger’. Thank God I don’t eat fast food. Some policemen watched this demonstration and made sure that it was not getting out of control. At first everything was okay but then the officers carried away an old lady.” (Natalie Hadarics, 3HLWA) “On Friday was our departure to Vienna and we were a little bit sad.” (Michaela Zec, 2 ALG)
