„3 destinations – 2 mega-events – 1 low-budget-trip” was the success of the school leaving examination project team 4HKA (Laurin Stadlbauer, Clemens Barna, Luka Brizic and Christoph Han), which was organized for the students of 3HIB and was accompanied by Mag. Landsteiner and Mag.A Tartarotti. The eight-day cultural trip went to Berlin, Dresden and Leipzig which not only included the cultural program, but also the visit to two major events like the book fair in Leipzig and the world largest tourism fair ITB in Berlin.
As we stayed in the very central Berliner Wombats City Hostel we could easily reach our destinations in less than 15 minutes. We checked out some very interesting museums and took a cultural tour through town, where we even had the great opportunity to take a quick break at one of the most iconic sausage stands.
One of the highlights we had on our trip was the visit to the largest travel fair, the ITB (Internationale Tourismus Börse). Our day-trip to the visitors- and sales record, focused on this years’ partner country Mexico, as well as the Austrian tourism advertising.
As the result of the great and friendly guides we had in Dresden, we learned a lot about the history and the architecture of the baroque metropolis. Especially the amazing “round-midnight”-visit in the world known Semperoper, made our day.
Goethe’s affectionately named “little-Paris” Leipzig was already back then an educational- and fair-based metropolis. As the guided tour showed, Leipzig has tons of commercially used passages and featured attractions. On the Leipziger book fair we could regard all the teenagers, who were dressed up like Manga-figures. Furthermore it was the perfect finish of our journey.
