3 HMB in Brighton
Our class travelled to Brighton/Hove on 27th September to improve our English, learn more about Britain and, of course, to go shopping in London. We spent eight marvellous days there with our English teacher Prof. Kara and Prof. Wolf.
The flight to London was pretty exhausting because we had to fly via Barcelona and therefore arrived rather late in Brighton.
For the first two days after our flight we visited London. On Saturday we had a tour around the most famous sights like Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately, we couldn't really see the Elisabeth tower because it was under construction at the time. We also visited the London Dungeon, which was a scary and funny experience. There we learned about the plague, Jack the Ripper and heard some of London’s darkest and scariest stories. We went shopping in Oxford Street and Piccadilly Circus, and we were lucky to experience a world of culture, fashion and trade at Camden Market.
When we had our first lessons at the LSI language school, we met our teacher Sam and the headteacher Anthony. School was great because we were encouraged to improve our speaking skills. In addition, we had a tour through the famous streets of Brighton and down to the beach. The next day we had a Karaoke evening which was great fun.
On our only day without rain, we had our trip to the “Seven Sisters” which was a really exceptional experience. There were hundreds of sheep and the climb to the top of the cliffs was a bit challenging, but the breathtaking view from up there was worth it.
The day before our flight back home we visited the famous Royal Pavilion, and afterwards we had some free time. Some of us were really sad when we had to say goodbye to our host families, but also happy to get home again.
